Mountain biker comeback stories
"I hurt my shoulder in a OTB bike crash in Whistler and at first I could not figure out what the injury was…so I didn’t know what to do to get better. Mikayla was awesome in diagnosing and gave me a specifically tailored recovery plan that got me back on the bike so fast! It was awesome to have a PT not only so great at the PT side of things, but mountain bikes herself so she really understands what on the bike movements would be causing the pain and what to work on. A few weeks later I told her “I did the SST rock roll with no pain”, and she immediately adjusted recovery to increase the strength training…just amazing communication all around an awesome time with her!"
"Mikayla is the best! I hadn’t lifted weights since college but this program has gotten me excited about it again and is growing my strength at an awesome rate to get ready for ski season!"
"Mikayla is so knowledgeable and has a great approach to strength training and physical therapy. I have seen her for thoracic outlet syndrome as well as an ankle dislocation and sprain and for both issues she created a great program to help me rebuild my strength and create better habits I will continue to build on. She’s always available for help in the coaching program and offering the perfect balance of accountability and encouragement. Cannot recommend her enough if you’re looking for a great coach and resource for PT or strength and conditioning!"
"I cannot express how grateful I am for Mikayla! I was dealing with shoulder and neck pain stemming from muscle imbalances, likely from a bike crash a couple of years ago. I’d spent a year going to PT, massage, and chiropractor with no improvement. After two months of working with Mikayla, I was mostly pain free! She also added lower body exercises to my PT workout upon request to make me a better athlete. I was so impressed with her knowledge and also the care she put into making a personalized program. I highly recommend Achieve Your Peak Physio!"
"I had such a great experience with Mikayla at Achieve Your Peak Physio. She helped me work through a long-term shoulder issue that was causing a lot of frustration and pain in my day to day life. I had just about given up and decided to accept I would be moderately crippled at 37, until a friend recommended her to me. What really stood out to me was how hands-on and personalized her care felt—even through online sessions. She paid close attention to my movements, asked the right questions, and was able to guide and adjust me in a way that made me feel like I was getting truly one-on-one care. She also made herself available between sessions to answer questions or concerns, which gave me so much reassurance throughout my recovery. She was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in my progress. I’m feeling so much better, not only can I once again perform simple movements, like lifting groceries out of my car (not possible before), but I am back to weightlifting in the gym and enjoying all my favorite activities. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a PT!"
"I am amazed by how much progress I have made in such a short time working with Mikayla. I have been living with chronic knee pain for years, and Mikayla’s astute assessment, thoughtful approach, and consistent accountability and feedback has helped me build strength and confidence both on and off the bike. I made more progress in the first month of working with Mikayla than I had in years. I also feel equipped to keep moving forward with her support via the monthly mountain bike training plan. I’m incredibly grateful for Mikayla’s expertise, encouragement, and genuine investment in my progress. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent physical therapist!"
"One of the best around, and an easy 5-star rating. I injured my rotator cuff earlier this year, making it impossible to ride my mountain bike. The timing of the injury was going to impact a non-refundable international MTB trip that I had already paid for. I contacted Achieve Your Peak Physio for help, and they quickly assessed my shoulder and put together a recovery plan. I worked with Mikayla each week for two months on a dynamic recovery and strength plan. We communicated progress each week and made adjustments as needed. As a result, I was able to join the MTB trip and confidently ride each day. I am so happy with the results, that I am continuing strength training with them with a focus on injury prevention."
"I just completed a 2 month strength coaching program with Mikayla, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Mikayla is incredibly knowledgeable and approachable. I learned so much from her over the course of the program. She tailored every aspect to fit my personal needs - not only in strength training and working on my specific imbalances, but also in making the most of the materials I already had at home. Living outside of the city , I wanted a program I could follow without investing heavily in equipment or joining a gym, and Mikayla delivered exactly that. The structure she implemented gives me confidence and clarity to continue my strength journey on my own. Would recommend working with Mikayla!"
"I reached out to Mikayla hoping to work on some muscle imbalances that have been affecting my progress in snowboarding and aerial sports. She worked hard to create a workout plan that not only focused on the issues I was having, but she continued to evolve our workouts to incorporate dynamic moves to help with the stability and strength needed for the sports I do. She made sure I understood everything along the way, adapted our workouts to how I was doing that day, and even explained how to continue to progress even when we were finished working together. I've already noticed a difference with in my aerial classes and cannot wait for ski season to start to see the difference on the mountain. Mikayla was always super flexible, encouraged me to ask questions throughout the process, and made sure I felt confident to continue my progress on my own. I highly recommend working with her!"
"Mikayla is kind, helpful, and helps not only work towards healing your injury but helps you understand it. She helped me with low back pain which can be so tricky. She is quick to respond and so fun to work with. Couldn't recommend her more!"
"Mikayla Is super knowledgeable and great to work with. Highly recommend!"
"Mikayla is super easy to work with as well as professional, effective, and kind. She was flexible in working with my schedule which made accessing care an easy process. Mikayla was incredibly helpful in treating an MCL tear/general knee pain from a bike injury by providing a personalized treatment plan that allows me to heal while maintaining strength."
